After earning her degree from Old Dominion University, Susan began her career as a teller and member service representative at a local credit union in Hampton Roads. Her talent and enthusiasm soon led her to the investment services department, where she discovered a passion for guiding clients to not only set but also achieve their financial goals. A few years later, Susan joined her father, Joe Newman, at Newman Financial Services, where she thrives on building meaningful connections with clients. She loves learning about their unique interests and linking them with the right people or resources to support their aspirations.
Susan's favorite part of her work is empowering clients through education. She takes pride in simplifying complex investment options and statements, helping clients feel confident and informed about their financial choices.
Susan is an active member of the Chesapeake Rotary Club and partners closely with the Chesapeake Public Schools Education Foundation to help coordinate weekend meals for students who may otherwise go without. She is especially passionate about bringing people together and values the collaboration of community organizations, volunteers, and friends who make this work possible.
Outside of work, Susan cherishes spending quality time with her husband, Andrew, their dog, Poppy, and the many friends she’s made in the Hampton Roads community.
